クリスマスリースを作ります。
クリスマス・リースの由来も様々な説が有りますが、最も古くは古代ローマと言われています。
輪の意味は「永遠」「新年の幸福を祈る飾り」
材料のろうそくは「太陽」 キリスト教では「永遠に続く神の愛」
実際リースに使用される樹木はモミの木や柊、ヒバのきですが、
柊の葉はイエス・キリストの被った茨の冠「受難」を意味し、
赤い実は「流した血」として飾られています。
また、松ぼっくり・麦の穂・葡萄の蔓リンゴなどの作物に関係するものは
「収穫」の象徴とされていました。
用途的には葉に殺菌作用と抗菌作用のある常緑樹を玄関に飾って、
魔除けにしたというものと、豊作を願って玄関を飾る。
日本で言えばしめ縄のような役割があったといわれています。
気軽に作れる、飾れるところが最大の魅力のリース。
趣味として自分で作ったり、プレゼントしたりと最近人気が上昇中です♪
